At the July city council meeting, the City of Woodruff appointed one new member to the planning commission to fill the vacant seat that was left when Allen Durham was elected to council back in the Feb. 25 special election. Whitney Pope replaces Durham and was appointed to a three-year term.
All the remaining members, Morgan Smith, Charlie Mae Gilliam, Marshall Stephens and Clay Varner we reappointed to serve different staggering terms, according to Woodruff’s city manager Lee Bailey.
The purpose of the committee is to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters relating to the comprehensive plan, zoning code amendments and rezoning. Planning committee meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the courtroom at City Hall. For more information and meeting dates, visit cityofwoodruff.com.
