Update – Charges Filed In Relation to Firearm Discharge Downtown

By Jeremy Handel, Staff Writer

Woodruff Police made an arrest in connection with the discharge of a firearm downtown on October 30.

Dominick Deshun Hatten, of Woodruff, was arrested and charged with pointing/presenting a firearm and unlawful carrying of a pistol. The arrest comes after a police investigation into the firing of a weapon near the intersection of Main and Georgia following an altercation inside Tap Three pub.

During the course of the investigation, police uncovered a previous incident and subsequently arrested Hatten’s brother Dominique Dequen Hatten and charged him with domestic violence/high and aggravated and reckless driving.

Both brothers were booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on Nov. 4 and have since been released.

Police continue to investigate the incident downtown to determine who discharged the firearm and further charges may be filed in the case.
