Woodruff continues to be a hotbed for new development, from housing to restaurants to shops. In the past year, despite the economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Woodruff has seen a number of additions.

Houses continue to be completed in various developments while others are getting underway. Main Street has seen the addition of a number of businesses, including bars Rotties 221, Tap Three, and The Right Place; shops like Main Street Sweets and Cottonmouth Smoke; and larger stores like Tractor Supply.

The city will see more growth over the next couple of years as more projects continue. Below are some of the more anticipated projects and when people can expect to see them completed.

Residential

Woodruff has capitalized on its designation by Insurify as the No. 1 Best Up & Coming Housing Market in South Carolina as more residential developments get planned. The Ellington and Pearson Park developments started in fall of 2019 are nearly sold out, with others getting started:

All told, new development will bring approximately 2,000 new single-family homes and approximately 200 multi-family units to the city in the next couple of years.
