Thirteen storytellers are coming to town to celebrate the Stone Soup Storytelling Festival – the official storytelling festival of South Carolina hosted by Stone Soup Storytelling Institute and South Carolina Humanities.

Our 2022 Stone Soup Storytelling Festival is happening in downtown Woodruff, SC, from April 21 – 24. The Grand Kick-Off begins Friday at 5 pm with a Stone Soup Supper at Humble Grounds followed by “Lighting the Fire”.

At 7 pm, our four Featured Tellers will spark the evening and hit you with their best story, held at MUSE 134, 134 S. Main. 9 – 10:30 pm is “Late Night” -Believe It Or Not! Mature audience tales. Don’t let your kids stay up too late. Then make that short drive home safely for the night.

Early Saturday cranks up with “Good Morning Woodruff” – Amateur Open Mic followed by our 2022 New Voices tellers from all around the nation. Then comes…wait for it…”Say What?” Tall Tales, Whoppers, and Lies with cash prizes. After a good supper at our local restaurants, Saturday evening concludes with “Cabaret!” Come for laughs, lies, and maybe liberation.

Stone Soup is located at MUSE 134, 134 South Main Street, Woodruff, 29388. MUSE describes the Stone Soup and 134 South Main partnership well and the unlimited uses and purpose for the building seeing how the nine muses, goddesses from the ancient Greek world, represent history, comedy, love songs, music, oratory, heroic poems, dance, astronomy, and tragedy. From that partnership arose Stone Soup at MUSE 134 – A welcome venue with a warm entryway, listening-performance-activity room, and facilities.
