What is the Wolverine Wash House?
The Wolverine Wash House is a laundromat that offers services and options to Woodruff and surrounding communities. The Wolverine Wash House offers traditional and non-traditional Laundromat services.
Who founded it?
Franklin and April Jeter Manning “own a laundromat in Georgia.” April is a native of Woodruff so “when the opportunity presented itself to open a Laundromat in her hometown, April and Franklin “felt like we could not pass it up. We brought my cousin Akeem Bivings, along with us on this venture since he is still a permanent resident” in Woodruff.
Who runs it?
Akeem Bivings is the manager and his wife Nikki is the attendant. Nikki is in charge of the wash, dry, and fold service.
What type of services do you offer?
We offer an alternative to using coins. We have an App System called The Laundry Boss which allows you to select your washing options and pay for the machines directly from your phone. We also have an option for customers to pay at our Kiosk Machine using their debit or credit card. We also still have the option of using coins. We offer a Wash, Dry, and Fold Service – where you can drop your clothes off when the attendant is on-site, and she can do your laundry for you at $1.25 per pound or if you need your items in a rush ( 2 hours), the charge is only $1.50 per pound. We offer complimentary coffee, televisions, and a clean, comfortable, and relaxing environment to do your laundry or have your laundry done by our attendant.
What are the days and hours of operation?
We are open daily from 6:00 am to 12:00 midnight. We have an attendant on duty from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Why did you start The Wolverine Wash House?
We felt there was a need for this type of business in the community. The community is growing, and we wanted to be a part of that growth.
What does it mean to the community?
Hopefully, it means change, growth, and options. Let’s face it, we have to do laundry and if you are not fortunate enough to have a washer and dryer in your home or if you have one but for whatever reason you have to go to a Laundromat, we are the next best thing to doing it at home. We want to give the community the option of not having to haul around a sack of quarters. Times are changing, and we want to be a part of that change and want to be able to grow with the community.
What impact have you noticed?
Well, we are still new but we have noticed customers saying that they are happy that they don’t have to drive to surrounding towns to do their laundry. The community now has a clean and safe place to take care of their laundry needs right here at home.
