Per Jes Sdao, Recycling Coordinator for Spartanburg County, a community clean-up is planned for August 12th-13th from 8 a.m. -3 p.m. in Enoree. Sdao says, “… we feel that having an event in Enoree serves a vital need for the community”.
The event will be held at the Trinity Fire Department, 15799 Highway 221 in Enoree.
They will be accepting construction and demolition materials, furniture, mattresses, box springs, brush, leaves, and limbs.
Sdao explains, “It differs from our semi-annual clean-up events like the larger one in Woodruff only in that we will not be accepting scrap metal, electronics, or tires. Scrap metal can be taken to the Enoree recycling center on Hwy. 92 or the Hobbysville recycling center on Kilgore Bridge Rd. anytime during our open hours, electronics can be taken to the Hobbysville recycling center anytime during our open hours, and tires are so heavily regulated that we only accept them during the big events or at the Wellford Landfill.
The event is open to any Spartanburg County resident, but we have opted to hold it in Enoree to make it as convenient and easy as possible for residents living in that area to receive county services.”
