2022 AAU Taekwondo Nationals

The 2022 AAU Taekwondo Nationals was held July 3-9 at MGM Grand Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Master Mike White traveled with a team of young people from Woodruff to compete. The picture shows some of the most talented and hardworking competitors in Taekwondo in their age group. Colby Smith won a gold medal in Poomsae.

Taekwondo is one of 30 sports offered by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). “The AAU Taekwondo Program is open to athletes of all ages and abilities. Athletes may participate in Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Black Belt divisions in Forms, Olympic-style Sparring, and Point Sparring. Master Michael White owns and operates a Taekwondo school in Woodruff. He is a 6th Dan Black Belt who has studied Taekwondo for over 38 years and has coached for 25 years. “I thank God for giving me this calling years ago to serve in this ministry. Everything we do is for Him. I do this for the kids. It’s all for the kids. I thank my wife, Heather White, Grandmaster Jimmy Anderson, my parents, Becky and Dickie White, and my Taekwondo students and parents.
