Enoree Community Connect (ECC) had a town hall meeting on Monday, November 14.
Angelique Jarvis-Simmons, ECC Director, led the meeting. The first hour of the meeting was dedicated to discussing preparations for the Annual Enoree Christmas Parade. Angelique updated the group on parade participants that have committed to being in the parade. At the time of the meeting, we had commitments from 15 businesses and individuals. Amongst the participants will be Jean Pierre Wersinger, bagpiper. and Trinity Fire Department. Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office will be providing traffic safety.
Also discussed was a celebration that will occur in the parking lot of Enoree First Baptist Church after the parade. There will be pictures with Santa Claus, a tent with authentic Christmas treats, and more. If you are interested in donating, volunteering, or participating in the parade, you can contact Angelique at (864) 293-8824 or Tracy at (864) 978-4167.
During the second hour of the meeting, ECC updated attendees on a project that has been in the works for a few months.
Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation has agreed to assist Enoree in getting a new recreational park. ECC is tasked with finding and purchasing a plot of land for the park. They have been working with Jon Woodsby, Director of Spartanburg County Parks and Recreation, on this project. “After one year and a half of communicating with the residents of Enoree in town hall meetings, going door to door and on social media, the need for a recreational area was one of the items at the top of the list.” ECC is still a ways from beginning this project, as obtaining property is proving to be difficult. ECC is asking for donations in the form of land or money for this project. Please contact Angelique at (864) 293-8824 or Tracy at (864) 978-4167 if you are interested.
