Brooklyn Taylor, daughter of Jeff and Kimberly Taylor of Enoree, competed in the Spartanburg, Inman, Boiling Springs, and Greater Greer Scholarship Competition on January 8. The competition was held at the Twichell Auditorium on the campus of Converse University in Spartanburg, S.C. Taylor competed against six other teens and won Miss Boiling Springs Teen. In an Instagram post, Taylor says, “I’m so excited to announce that I will be competing at Miss South Carolina [Teen] this summer. I’m thrilled to become a part of this organization once again to advocate #knowmytype and raise awareness for Type One Diabetes. I can’t wait to start this journey with all of my new sisters!”

Brooklyn was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes, at age 11, after a long sickness and rapid period of weight loss. Taylor is now 17.

Taylor will compete in Miss South Carolina Teen June 20-23 in Columbia, S.C.

If you are interested in helping Taylor along her journey to Miss South Carolina Teen you can contact her mother Kimberly Taylor at 864-580-1813. Opportunities for sponsorship are available. Also, Taylor is anxious to share her story and raise awareness for Type One Diabetes. If you would like to book Taylor to speak at an event you can contact her mother.
