Woodruff Hires Championship-Winning Offensive Coordinator Brett Sloan to Lead Woodruff Football
By: Garrett Mitchell, Staff Writer
The Woodruff Wolverines have their man.
Brett Sloan, the offensive coordinator at Georgia powerhouse Collins Hill, has been hired to lead the Wolverines’ football program after the departure of Bradley Adams following a five-year tenure.
A native of Inman and graduate of Chapman High School, Sloan has a strong coaching pedigree and head coaching experience. After a stint as the head coach of Kell High School, a competitive program from Marietta, GA, Sloan led the offense of 7A powerhouse Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, GA, in 2022.
For Sloan, the chance to come home to Spartanburg County and take over the Wolverines’ legendary program was too good an offer to pass up.
Sloan guided the Kell Longhorns as head coach for five seasons from 2017-21, compiling a record of 35-21 and a play-off spot each year. Sloan wants to use his experience as a head coach and that of coaching some of the nation’s elite recruits at Collins Hill to help build Woodruff back into the championship program that long was synonymous with Wolverine football.
A press conference was held at the Varner Stadium field house at 9 AM on Tuesday to introduce Sloan as the Wolverines’ next head coach.
This story will be updated with more information later today as The Woodruff Times speaks to Coach Sloan and records his first thoughts as the new head coach of Woodruff Wolverine football.
