Exciting, Yes!
Unique, Yes!
A reading from the second edition of Kristina’s Cache: A Memoir of Adventure and Survival in Alaska with author Kristina Ahlnäs.
Kristina Ahlnäs was born in Finland, in the northern part of Europe.
When Kristina moves from Finland to Alaska to start a new life as an American oceanographer, her life is clearly more than normal. Kristina’s memories recall unique experiences related to her job and seeing UFOs in the Alaskan sky.
In Alaska, Kristina begins her life there renting a place to stay and then sleeping in a tent as she single-handedly builds her eight-by-eight-foot log cabin with a 16-foot ladder (the cache). Alaska is a world where it’s so cold cars don’t start, finding someplace warm to stay is nearly impossible, and friends will do anything to help each other.
The life she writes about, which one could only dream of, is written about in her book Kristina’s Cache.
Monday, March 6, 6:30-7:30 pm, Kristina Ahlnäs, famous author and world traveler, will be sharing stories at MUSE 134, the home for the Stone Soup Storytelling Institute at 134 S. Main Street in downtown Woodruff.
