Enoree, SC – In the early hours of Saturday, May 27, 2023, a sexual assault incident unfolded on Frontier Rd. in Enoree, prompting swift action from law enforcement. The victim, who managed to escape her attacker, sought help at a nearby residence, leading to the involvement of local authorities. The subsequent investigation resulted in the identification and location of the suspect, Christopher Tyler Eversole, who is now facing multiple charges related to the assault.
According to the press release issued by the Spartanburg’s County Sheriff’s Office, the victim, whose identity remains confidential, was able to escape her assailant and seek assistance from a concerned resident. The resident promptly dialed 911 on behalf of the victim, who was then transported to a local hospital. Providing a detailed account of the incident, the victim’s testimony enabled law enforcement officials to locate the vehicle where the assault had taken place.
With the arrival of daybreak, first shift deputies, supported by two Special Victims Unit (SVU) investigators, assumed control of the investigation. Their combined efforts culminated in the identification and subsequent apprehension of the suspect, Christopher Tyler Eversole. Transported to the sheriff’s office, Eversole’s statement corroborated certain key details of the victim’s account, although he claimed that the acts were consensual.
Upon reviewing the evidence, an investigator presented the case to a magistrate judge, who promptly issued several warrants against Eversole. The warrants include charges of Kidnapping, Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree (3 counts), Assault and Battery – First Degree, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Eversole, a 29-year-old resident of 750 Sumner Rd., Enoree, S.C. remains in custody pending a bond hearing before a circuit court judge.
Eversole was already out on multiple bonds at the time of this latest incident, indicating a concerning pattern of criminal behavior. Previous arrests include charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana on April 24, 2023. Additionally, on March 29, 2023, Eversole was arrested for offenses such as Driving Under Suspension, Failure to Stop, Operating an Unsafe Vehicle, Grand Larceny, and Malicious Injury to Personal Property. Finally, on February 8, 2023, he faced charges of Receiving Stolen Goods.
