Charlotte-based performer Bryan Bielanski has been described as a child of Nirvana and The Beatles who grew up to become a singer-songwriter. His music reflects his passion for bringing smiles to peoples’ faces and having a good time. Bryan, who was born in Parma, Ohio, will be bringing his feel-good show to Greenville on October 6th for a show at The Growler Haus.
“When performing, I play acoustic guitar and sing,” explained Bielanski. “I play a mix of original songs and covers from artists who have inspired me. Lately, a lot of people have been commenting that I give off a lot of retro vibes. My sound is a lot like classic rock from the 50’s, and people should be ready for catchy, upbeat songs at my concerts.”
Bielanski began touring and performing in 2012, and in the last 11 years has traveled around the country and the world doing concerts and promoting his music. To date, Bryan has played in every state except Alaska and in countries from Central America to Europe to Asia, including Costa Rica, Austria, France, Belgium, Italy, and China. He says getting to travel and make people happy through the gift of music is his passion.
“It’s amazing, and I’m having the time of my life,” he said. “I have played everywhere from youth group homes to retirement communities, and anyone can enjoy my music whether you are 9 or 90. Getting to meet different people every night and see so many new places is great. It takes a lot of work, but it is worth every single minute.”
Bielanski’s songs have a real Rockabilly feel to them and harken back to the great early days of rock and roll. For Bryan, it is all about having a good time and escaping into the music for a while. An old soul with a modern flare, Bryan has been compared to some of the greats of the 1950s and 1960s.
“Some people have compared me to Buddy Holly, maybe because of my glasses,” he joked. “I have always been kind of nostalgic for that time period, growing up watching movies and listening to music from that era. My early albums were folksier and more introspective, and now I stick more to rock and roll.”
Bielanski’s music and songwriting have been critically acclaimed across the United States, with his personality and energy being among the many qualities that have made him successful and popular with audiences.
“Bryan Bielanski might look like a mild-mannered singer-songwriter. But, behind his cool, Clark Kent-esque demeanor lies a super-talented musician and showman who is literally racing faster than a speeding bullet towards indie rock icon status,” wrote Tracey Maine of The Athens News in Athens, Ohio.
Tim Curley of the Sonoma Index-Tribune in Sonoma, CA, added, “Bielanski is unabashedly upbeat. His demeanor drips with upbeat exuberance.”
The name of Bielanski’s current tour is ‘Bryan’s Super Happy Fun Time II.’ He hopes people will come out for his show in Greenville and promises to make it a memorable evening. He gave some insight into what listeners can expect to hear.
“Some of my songs have pop culture references,” says Bryan. “I write a lot of songs about my travels. You know what they say, write about what you know, and for me, that is storytelling. I hope people will walk away having had a great time. ‘Bryan’s Super Happy Fun Time’ is about making the world a better place.”
He added, “I’m really looking forward to playing in Greenville. It’s close to home, and I hope it is the first of many shows in the area.”
