Van always dreamed of opening an Irish Pub. However, life had its own plans for him, as his world was shaken two years ago when he unexpectedly lost his beloved wife, June. Grief-stricken and searching for a new path, a fateful trip to Universal Studios with his children led him to Ragland Road Irish Pub and Entertainment. It was there that he found his inspiration and realized that he wanted to make his dream a reality. Encouraged by his kids, Van embarked on a journey to open Conner Flynn’s Irish Pub.
The story of Conner Flynn’s is a tale of friendship, collaboration, and a deep connection to Irish heritage. The team that came together to turn this dream into a reality is a testament to the power of community and shared ambitions. The group behind Conner Flynn’s includes:
- Kyle Frair: Building owner and partner, who played a pivotal role in bringing the vision to life.
- Van Broad: The concept creator who always wanted to open an Irish Pub.
- Sergio and Rico Briceno: The talented chef partners responsible for crafting the authentic Irish fare.
- Charles Sutter: An investor who not only provided financial support but also personally crafted all the tables and bar counters.
- Jeff Slater: Another investor who contributed to the concept, marketing, and design.
- June Conner Broad: Van’s late wife is the inspiration behind the name, Conner Flynn’s.
Conner Flynn’s Irish Pub promises to serve a diverse menu of traditional Irish dishes, such as shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, colcannon (Irish potato stew), fish and chips, alongside traditional American favorites like hamburgers, wings, steak, salmon, and much more. A full menu of Irish and American beverages, including beer, whiskey, scotch, and more, will be available to complement the culinary experience.
The building, a 3,000 sq ft space, is owned by Kyle Frair, who has also invested in Woodruff and shared the city’s story with the team. Woodruff’s vibrant growth and the support of the local council have made the prospect of owning and operating a business here an exciting one.
What sets Conner Flynn’s apart is not just the sumptuous menu, but the heart and soul of the establishment. Each partner has made significant contributions to the concept, look, menu, and design. From the unique tables and bar crafted by Charles Sutter to the lighting and design input from Kyle Frair, it’s clear that every detail has been thoughtfully considered.
The grand opening of Conner Flynn’s Irish Pub promises to be a memorable affair, complete with music and entertainment. The establishment will also feature front street outdoor seating, providing a perfect spot for patrons to enjoy the delightful Woodruff weather.
Though the journey has taken a bit longer than expected, Conner Flynn’s aims to open its doors to the public in the next two weeks. The construction process has gone smoothly, thanks to the expertise of Momentum Construction and Dancy Interiors.
The pub has partnered with Summit Creative of Woodruff to handle its marketing and website launch, as well as to explore advertising opportunities with other local businesses.
In a heartwarming display of community support, Conner Flynn’s donated $1,000 last year to sponsor the Heart and Soul Fest, underlining their commitment to being an active part of the Woodruff community.
And the good news doesn’t end there. Just a month after Conner Flynn’s grand opening, a new venture, Maverick Biscuits, will open its doors next door. A concept by Sergio and Rico Briceno, Maverick Biscuits will focus on serving breakfast and lunch, promising a delectable start to the day.
