Greenville, SC – In an effort to empower individuals with criminal records with opportunities for a fresh start, Senator Karl B. Allen, in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS), has announced the eagerly awaited 10th Annual “A Second Chance Forum.” This reentry job fair is set to make a substantial impact by bringing together nearly 30 employers who are committed to hiring individuals with criminal records on-site. Additionally, the event will provide valuable resources for participants to better understand the expungement and pardon processes.
Scheduled for February 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event will take place at the Phillis Wheatley Community Center, located at 335 Greenacre Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
The “A Second Chance Forum” offers a unique opportunity for job seekers with criminal records to connect with potential employers who are willing to look beyond their past and focus on their future potential.
In addition to the job fair, attendees will have access to vital resources about the expungement and pardon processes. This educational component is a crucial aspect of helping individuals navigate the legal system and understand their options for clearing their records.
Anita Dantzler, SCDPPPS Public Information Director, serves as the media contact for the event and can be reached via email at Anita.Dantzler@ppp.sc.gov or by phone at 803-205-5095.
Senator Karl B. Allen and the SCDPPPS invite the community to join them in supporting the 10th Annual “A Second Chance Forum” and help create a more inclusive and forgiving society. Together, they are working towards a brighter future for individuals seeking redemption and a second chance at a productive, crime-free life.
