In a significant crackdown on narcotics distribution in Spartanburg County, authorities have arrested 45-year-old Spencer Aaron Foster following an investigation into the distribution of fentanyl within the area. Foster, residing at 151 Suber Drive, Wellford, SC, became the focal point of a operation led by the Spartanburg County Narcotics Unit, in collaboration with the Wellford Police Department.
The investigation, which spanned several weeks, culminated on February 8, 2024, when law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Foster’s residence around 9:30 AM. The initial search of Foster’s home led investigators to extend their operation to a vehicle believed to be used for storing additional narcotics, located at a nearby residence. A second search warrant was promptly obtained and executed, revealing a substantial quantity of illegal substances and contraband.

The items seized during the operation include 227 grams of fentanyl, 21.6 grams of cocaine, 7 grams of crack cocaine, 17 grams of marijuana, 60 mg of liquid cannabis, 1100 mg of THC edibles, a Glock 43 handgun, and $90,455.00 in US currency. Foster claimed ownership of all the narcotics and the firearm, leading to his arrest.
Foster faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute (PWID) crack cocaine, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of distribution or trafficking, and possession of a firearm by a violent felon. Following his arrest, a magistrate judge denied bond for Foster on all charges, resulting in his continued incarceration.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the distribution of narcotics, particularly fentanyl, a substance with a high potential for addiction and overdose. The successful execution of these search warrants and the subsequent arrest of Foster mark a significant victory in the battle against drug trafficking in Spartanburg County.
