New Local Business: Aims to Revitalize Farming Community

Enoree, SC — In the heart of Enoree, a new business, Stones Feed and Hauling, is striving to reinvigorate the farming spirit. Officially opening its doors on September 16, 2023, the store was born out of the challenges its owners, who operate a small farm themselves, experienced firsthand with rising costs for feeds, equipment, and fuel.

“Pricing was our main concern,” they shared. “With farms dwindling in numbers due to cost increases, we wanted to provide fair pricing to help others like us.” Stones Feed and Hauling is the result of this vision, providing reasonably priced supplies for farmers raising cows, pigs, chickens, goats, ducks, and livestock dogs.

Their location boasts an old structure, complete with a fenced-in backyard, which made it perfect for a feed store. “We loved the old building’s structure, and once we painted the walls and set up our shelving, we were ready to go.” Stocked with high-quality livestock feeds, the shelves represent just the beginning of their offerings. They plan to expand into seeds, plants, animal medicines, and even a hauling service for local farmers.

The team, driven by a strong desire to promote self-sufficiency, has forged partnerships with Blooming Sunflower Handmade Soaps (BSHS). BSHS has handmade soaps, chapstick, and lotion bars inside Stones Feed and Hauling. They hope collaborations like this will ignite a spark in the local community to embrace farming. “Being able to live off the land is a valuable skill to possess, especially in these times,” they said.
Despite the initial challenges of identifying the best feeds and promoting their business, Stones Feed and Hauling has maintained an unwavering commitment to their customers. “If they need anything outside of business hours, they can message or call us, and we’ll meet them at the store for their convenience. We want our customers to know we work for them and are willing to meet their needs.”

Coming from agricultural and city backgrounds, the owners have long dreamed of helping their community. “We hope to continue helping everyone, from those who just have dogs to those running full-on ranches.”

Stones Feed and Hauling’s mission extends beyond profitability. They hope to inspire other small businesses by demonstrating that anything is possible with hard work and community support. “Work speaks volumes when it makes things easier for others,” they affirmed. Whether someone needs a single bag of dog food or a large order for their farm, Stones Feed and Hauling is ready to help.

A price sheet for their feeds and products is available at the store. Visit them to learn more about how this new local business is determined to restore the region’s agricultural roots.
