When Tim Davis founded Pro Physical Therapy in 2001, it was more than just a business decision—it was a calling. Born and raised in Woodruff, Davis opened the practice with a simple but powerful mission: to serve the physical therapy needs of the community he loves.
Now, more than two decades later, Pro Physical Therapy has grown well beyond its original location. With offices in Duncan, Inman, Landrum, and multiple North Carolina cities, the business continues to thrive under Davis’s leadership. But it’s the recent expansion of the Woodruff location that marks a new chapter in their journey.
“We decided to expand our physical therapy practice and gym membership to meet the growing needs of our community,” Davis said. “It’s allowed us to add new staff, offer group fitness classes, and provide personal training.”

The expansion included adding more space and brand-new gym equipment, which has been well received by both patients and gym members. “The new equipment allows us to design rehab and wellness programs that specifically target each client’s needs,” Davis explained. “And our customers seem to really enjoy it [the improvements].”
Pro Physical Therapy’s mission extends beyond patient care. Davis and his team offer a wide range of services to the general public, including gym memberships, group fitness classes, youth speed and agility training, and plans to add a massage therapist in the near future. Current fitness offerings include Zumba, Boot Camps, Senior Fitness, and more. They’re also seeking yoga and pilates instructors to expand their wellness offerings.
With a growing population in Woodruff, the demand for physical therapy has increased. “Physical therapy is often the best first choice for musculoskeletal pain, balance loss, and injury prevention,” Davis noted. “We teach our clients how to manage their condition and continue progress long-term.”
Despite the growth, Davis acknowledges the challenges, especially regarding staffing. “Developing an effective team has been the biggest challenge,” he said. “But we are blessed in Woodruff to have a top-notch team.”
That team includes experienced professionals skilled in manual therapy, dry needling, exercise instruction, and more—all offered in a one-on-one setting.
Beyond therapy, Pro Physical Therapy is deeply involved in the community. They collaborate with the Medical University of South Carolina and other institutions to train future therapists. Locally, they work with athletes, coaches, and parents to support youth sports and help students return to the activities they love.
So, what’s next for Pro Physical Therapy?
While there are no immediate plans for new locations, Davis says the team remains “poised to add new equipment and services as community needs grow.” They also plan to expand their group fitness programs.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or simply looking for a supportive wellness environment, Pro Physical Therapy is ready to help.
Davis said. “One of the best parts of our job is we see people respond favorably to our programs, resulting in less pain, improved strength and balance, and return to healthy lifestyles.”
For more information or to schedule a tour, residents are encouraged to contact Pro Physical Therapy and discover how the team can help them move toward a healthier future.
