An update has arrived regarding traffic safety concerns at the intersection of Beaverdam Church Road and Drummond Road. In response to outreach from lifelong Enoree resident Catherine Cullen Evans, Laurens County officials have confirmed that they will be installing traffic flow signs at the intersection in the coming months.
Evans previously went public with her concerns about increased traffic and safety hazards following the closure of the Enoree Bridge on Highway 221. With drivers using Beaverdam Church Road as an unofficial detour, the intersection with Drummond Road has become a trouble spot for confusion and near misses.
In a Facebook Live video that quickly went viral, Evans offered guidance to local drivers on how to safely navigate the intersection and encouraged others to share her message. She also contacted the SCDOT Laurens office, which conducted a review of the area.
Until Laurens County steps in to install directional signage everyone should be cautious when traveling through this intersection. Evans said she’s hopeful the new signs will improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents.

THANS TO REV. CEE CEE EVANS!!
REV. EVANS, I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO YOU.
JOB WELL DONE!
