The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has proposed the permanent closure of the bridge on S-112 (Beaverdam Church Road) / S-116 (Kilgore Bridge Road) over the Enoree River in Laurens County.

Designated as Asset ID 6895, the bridge was undergoing maintenance when Hurricane Helene caused severe damage to its substructure. Due to resulting instability and safety concerns, SCDOT has determined that demolition and permanent closure are necessary.

To provide the public with more information and collect feedback, SCDOT will host a public meeting:
Date: May 6, 2025
Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM EDT
Location: Woodruff Community Center
500 Cavins Rd, Woodruff, South Carolina, 29388

A public comment period will also run from April 21, 2025, through May 21, 2025. Community members are encouraged to share comments or questions regarding the proposed closure.

Written feedback can be submitted online at https://s-112-beaverdam-church-rd-and-s-116-bridge-scdot.hub.arcgis.com/feedback/surveys/a45658153cf4414da307e1cc5c48ef14/explore
