Police Blotter: March 1–31, 2025

The following is a summary of incidents reported by local law enforcement during the month of March 2025. A total of 100 incidents were recorded.

The Woodruff Police Department responded to over 100 incidents during March 2025, highlighting a wide range of activity throughout the community.

Drug and Narcotic Violations:
total of 10 drug-related offenses were reported, primarily involving simple possession of marijuana. Incidents occurred at various locations including North Main Street, Highway 101, and East Griffith Street.

Assaults:
Officers responded to multiple assault calls, including one aggravated assault on Theo Circle and several simple assaults across Buncombe Street, Evalane, and North Main Street.

Burglary and Theft:
Three homes on Josephine Drive were targeted in a burglary spree on March 17. In addition, reports of larceny, shoplifting on Laurens Road, and forgery involving counterfeit currency were documented.

Vandalism and Property Crimes:
Three incidents of property damage were reported, with vandalism taking place on Cross Anchor Road, Chamblin Street, and Parkside Drive.

Driving Offenses:
Officers handled two DUI incidents, including one 3rd offense. Numerous traffic violations related to suspended licenses, uninsured vehicles, and improper registration were also cited.

Other Notable Reports:
A case of bribery and resisting arrest on Purcell Drive
A sexual assault investigation on Buncombe Street
One missing person case reported from Shakespeare Drive
Multiple trespassing notices and city ordinance violations

This summary reflects continued efforts by the department to maintain public safety and enforce the law across a broad spectrum of issues.
