Downtown Woodruff welcomed its newest small business in style as Plants on Main held its official ribbon cutting on Friday, April 25 at 4 p.m. Owner Amy Kleman was joined by Mayor Kenneth Gist, Mayor Pro Tem Toni Sloan, Councilman Jeff Wood, City Chaplain Rev. Derrick Scurry, and dozens of community members to celebrate five months of steady growth.

Although the boutique plant shop opened quietly without a formal launch, it has attracted customers from across the region. “People drive by, see the storefront, and come in,” Kleman said. Visitors have come from as far as Columbia, Aiken, Greenville, and even North Carolina.

To mark the occasion, the Klemans hosted a Grand Opening Celebration the following morning, Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. Guests enjoyed refreshments, an expanded plant selection, and a calm, welcoming environment. “It was important to me to create a peaceful space,” Amy said. “People walk in and just breathe—it’s like a vacation for the senses.”

Amy and her husband Eric Kleman, who are soon celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, feel proud to be part of and contribute to the Woodruff community. “We love being here,” Amy said. “Things are going really well.”
