Have a dish that always gets asked for at family gatherings? A recipe passed down through generations?
Or maybe a go-to creation that gets rave reviews every time? Now’s your chance to put your culinary skills to good use—and see your name in print!
The Woodruff Times is launching a year-long community recipe contest, and we want YOU to be part of it.
Each month, we’re spotlighting a seasonal theme—from summer BBQ to cozy winter comfort foods—and inviting readers to submit their best recipes. All submissions will be considered for The Woodruff Times: A Year of Local Flavor, a community cookbook we’ll publish at the end of the year. Proceeds will support a local nonprofit or food pantry, making this project not only fun, but meaningful.
How to Enter:
Send us your original or adapted recipe (300 words or less).
Include a brief story or memory behind the dish (optional but encouraged).
Photos are highly encouraged—show off your delicious creation!
Submit entries to: www.thewoodrufftimes.com/the-woodruff-times-recipe-challange
Every month, one winner and two runners-up will be featured in the paper and on our website. Winners will also receive prizes from local sponsors—and bragging rights, of course!
We’ve also added Bonus Categories such as allergy-friendly recipes, international dishes, slow cooker or air fryer meals, even pet treats! So whether you’re a seasoned chef or a weekend kitchen warrior, there’s a place for your flavor in our pages.
Don’t wait—May’s theme is “Garden to Table” or “Mom’s Favorites.” Submit your best recipe today, and let’s cook up something special together!
