The following is a summary of incidents reported by local law enforcement
during the month of April 2025. A total of 93 incidents were recorded.
The Woodruff Police Department responded to 93 incidents during April 2025, reflecting a range of criminal and public safety matters.
Violent Crimes:
Aggravated Assault & Attempted Murder: 1 case of attempted murder and multiple aggravated and simple assault charges, including an assault and battery incident on Gray Street and Edwards Road.
Domestic Violence: 1 reported incident of first-degree domestic violence occurred on South Main Street.
Property Crimes:
Arson: reported at Theo Circle.
Theft & Shoplifting: Two shoplifting cases were reported at Cross Anchor Road and Highway 221. Additional larceny incidents included a stolen bicycle on West Hayne Street. Larceny on Connie Dr and fraud on East Hayne St.
Drug and Alcohol-Related Offenses:
Drug Violations: At least 4 incidents involved narcotics, with arrests made at various locations including Theo Circle, South Main Street, and Aurelia Court.
DUI and Driving Offenses: Numerous citations were issued for driving under suspension, lack of insurance, expired registration, and DUI first offenses.
Public Safety, Disorder:
Disorderly Conduct & Resisting Arrest: Cases involved disorderly behavior and resisting law enforcement, leaving the scene of an collision at Woodruff Street and hit and run with no injury on N. Main Street.
Vandalism: Property damage was reported on Harben Drive, Woody Court, and Woodruff Street.
Weapons & Threats:
Firearm Incidents:
Officers responded to two cases of pointing and presenting firearms at Old Magnolia Lane and Lanford Road.
Failure to Stop for Blue Lights:
A high-speed incident occurred near Edward Road and Mill Street.
Miscellaneous:
Extortion, Fraud, and Identity Theft: Several cases of fraud and identity theft were reported including confidence scams and use of false identification.
Trespassing:
Multiple trespass notices were issued throughout the city.
EMS Assists & Death Calls: Officers assisted in medical emergencies and responded to death calls.
The Woodruff Police Department continues efforts to maintain public safety and encourages residents to report suspicious activity.
