WOODRUFF, S.C. — The City of Woodruff invites residents and neighbors from across the Upstate to come together for a vibrant three-day Juneteenth Celebration at McKinney Park and in The City of Woodruff Auditorium from June 20 to 22, 2025. With music, food, dancing, and fellowship, this year’s event promises to be a powerful expression of culture, freedom, and unity.
Friday, June 20 @ 6:30 PM
The festivities kick off Friday evening with live performances by local talents Travis Smith and Leroy Waters, bringing rhythm and soul to The City of Woodruff Auditorium stage as the community gathers to mark the beginning of this exciting celebration.
Saturday, June 21 @ 11:30 AM
The celebration continues Saturday morning with performances by MAD Music and Cornell Green. A high-energy, citywide Boots on the Ground Dance starts at 2:45 PM, so all attendees are encouraged to “wear your boots” and join in!
Children’s activities, local vendors, and nourishment stations will be available throughout the day, ensuring fun and refreshments for all ages.
Sunday, June 22 @ 5:00 PM – Gospel Explosion Finale
Sunday afternoon closes the weekend in The City of Woodruff Auditorium with a free Gospel Explosion, featuring:
-Allen Durham
-The Gospel Prophets
-The Carolina Boys (due to unforeseen circumstances, will not participate)
-Nancy & The Anointed Voice
The hometown crowd will welcome Nancy & The Anointed Voice back to Woodruff, where they will lift their voices in praise alongside their Quartet Families and Friends. This joyous musical finale promises to unite generations in a celebration of faith, freedom, and community spirit.
The Juneteenth Celebration is more than an event — it’s a reflection of history, resilience, and hope. Honoring the end of slavery in the United States, Juneteenth marks the realization of freedom for African Americans, and Woodruff continues to build on that legacy with family-friendly, uplifting programming that celebrates African American culture and heritage with everyone.
This event is coordinated by the City of Woodruff. For more information, contact City Chaplain Reverend Derrick Scurry at (864) 205-1230.
