WOODRUFF, S.C. — Congratulations to Captain Dylan Green, a 2012 graduate of Woodruff High School, on earning his Master of Science in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School on
June 18, 2025.
Captain Green’s path to space began with a deep love for physics, first nurtured at The Citadel and later through graduate work at Clemson University. Although his academic focus leaned toward Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, his military career as a Supply Chain Management Officer sparked a passion for acquisitions within the space systems sector.
“Space is evolving as a domain of warfare,” Green said. “Like air was in the 1900s, space is now vital for operations. I wanted to be part of that future.”
Green encourages students to pursue their dreams with intention: “Push to be your best. Don’t accept mediocrity. Research your goals. No one will do it for you.”
He credits his upbringing, faith, and his mother’s motto—“Make them tell you no”—as enduring guides. His mother is Lori Vaughn Green. He also honors his wife, Allison Green, whose support has been unwavering.
Captain Green’s journey is a powerful reminder that with perseverance, discipline, and faith, even the stars aren’t out of reach. From Woodruff to the frontiers of space, Captain Green continues to inspire.
