Families in the community are encouraged to take advantage of the Summer Meals Program, designed to ensure that children stay nourished during the school break.
Meal distribution takes place every Wednesday through July 30 at Woodruff Elementary School, with pick-up hours from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Each child aged 18 and under is eligible to receive a weekly meal box that includes seven breakfasts and seven lunches—completely free of charge. “The program is going very well. We are growing in the number of children we are serving and will serve everyone on a first come first serve basis,” said Audra Terry, Food Service Director, Spartanburg School District Four.
There are multiple distribution sites, including The Woodruff Elementary School and local churches. Families may only pick up from one location per week.
