The City of Woodruff has three City Council seats up for election in Wards 2, 4, and 6. Here’s what you need to know if you plan to run.
Eligibility Requirements
Be a Registered Voter in Spartanburg County
You must be registered to vote in Spartanburg County at the time of filing.
Residency Requirement
You must live within the city limits of Woodruff and within the ward you wish to represent.
Residency must be established at least 30 days before the election date.
Minimum Age
Candidates must be at least 18 years old (standard SC municipal law). Good Legal Standing
Candidates cannot have felony convictions or be in default to the city (e.g., unpaid taxes or fees).
Forms & Filing Fee
Complete a Statement of Intention of Candidacy (SIC) form.
Pay the $25 filing fee at Woodruff City Hall prior to filing.

Filing Period: August 1 – August 15, 2025 (Noon to Noon)
Election Day: November 4, 2025
