WOODRUFF, S.C. — Libertas Academy Woodruff, a tuition-free public charter school, is set to open in August 2026. It will be the city’s first public charter school.
For the 2026–27 school year, the school will serve students in grades 4K–6 and will add one grade each year until reaching 4K–8.
Libertas Academy will use the Core Knowledge, Eureka Math, and Core Virtues curricula, with a focus on foundational skills, character development, and hands-on learning experiences.
The school will require uniforms, which will be cost-effective and durable, allowing students to focus on learning. Transportation will be provided at no charge with group bus stops available for families.
Libertas Academy Woodruff will have a 4K program through a partnership with SC First Steps 4K. Parents registering for this program will also need to register at http://www.Free4KSC.org.Open enrollment for the 2026–27 school year begins in early January 2026 and will continue through mid-March. Applications submitted during this period will be entered into a lottery, with results shared by March 31, 2026.
Enrollment will remain open afterward on a rolling basis if space is available, or students will be placed on a waitlist once capacity is reached.
Libertas Academy Woodruff will be located on Fountain Inn Road. A permanent address will be shared once it is issued by local officials.
The school mascot will be the Patriots, with red, white, and blue as the school colors.
Libertas Academy Woodruff joins five sister schools across South Carolina: Libertas Academy BSA in Boiling Springs, Libertas Academy Colleton in Walterboro, Greenwood Charter Academy in Greenwood, Cherokee Charter Academy in Gaffney, and Cogito Academy in Lancaster.
