WOODRUFF — As families across the Upstate continue to feel the strain of the ongoing government shutdown and halted SNAP benefits, the mission of Helping Hands Ministries of Woodruff has never been more vital. The local nonprofit will host its Annual Banquet and Silent Auction on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Church at The Mill–Woodruff, 517 Cross Anchor Road. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. and is set to unite the community around a shared purpose — helping neighbors in need.
This year’s featured guest speaker, Roland Dry, will inspire attendees with a message of faith, resilience, and service. Guests will also enjoy a hearty Southern-style meal catered by Maverick Smoke, featuring pulled pork, chicken quarters, mac-n-cheese, smoked brisket baked beans, green beans, rolls, and dessert — a feast fit for fellowship and gratitude.
Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased at the Helping Hands Office, 206 Chamblin Street, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Local churches, civic groups, and businesses are encouraged to make a greater impact by sponsoring a table for eight at $96.
Every dollar raised from the banquet and silent auction will go directly to support the Helping Hands Food Pantry, which provides groceries, emergency aid, and hope to hundreds of local families struggling with food insecurity right here in our community.
