Football season may have ended in late November, but a trio of Woodruff stars showcased their skills in invitational all-star games in recent weeks.
Shaun ‘War Daddy’ Graybill competed in the Senior Blitz All-Star game on January 11 at Airport High School, and the Wolverines’ senior showed why he was one of the top high school linebackers in South Carolina over the past two seasons.
Graybill chalked up 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a forced and recovered fumble. War Daddy was one of the game’s big standouts on the defensive side of the ball. For Shaun, it was a final, valuable chance to showcase his skills to prospective college coaches.
“It was a great experience,” said Graybill. “I had so much fun playing with the guys I played with growing up, then meeting new people to play with. The coaches and players were great. It was an honor to play my very last high school game there.”
On Saturday, January 4, running back Aiden Gibson and quarterback Connor Davis competed in the Junior Blitz All-Star game for rising seniors at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill.
Gibson scored a receiving touchdown in the game and rushed for 10 yards while catching three passes for 28 yards, including his touchdown. One of the top ball carriers in the state and country for the 2027 recruiting cycle, who holds numerous Power 4 offers, enjoyed the experience and playing alongside his quarterback, Davis.
“Man, it was an awesome experience,” Gibson said. “Everybody on the field at all times were just great players overall. I learned a lot from the players up there, and to experience that with my quarterback is just great. He’s a great guy, and we’ll be dominating this upcoming season, like the other players.”
Davis also saw a lot of action in the game, completing six of nine pass attempts for 91 yards. He projects to be one of the most productive signal callers in the state as a senior, with Woodruff moving to the 2A classification for the upcoming two-year realignment cycle.
Both Gibson and Davis played for the victorious West team in the contest.
Woodruff football has developed lots of top talent over the last couple of seasons, and Graybill, Gibson, and Davis showed what Wolverine football is all about against the best competition in the Palmetto State.
