South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster will deliver his 2026 State of the State address on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 7 pm in the House Chamber at the South Carolina State House. The speech marks a historic moment, as McMaster is now the longest-serving governor in South Carolina history.

The address comes after the governor released a more than $1 billion budget plan earlier this month. The budget focuses on roads, tax cuts, and education. During the speech, McMaster is expected to talk about progress on these plans and share his goals for the year ahead.

McMaster became governor in January 2017. In 2025, he passed the previous record for time served as governor. His final State of the State address will look at both past accomplishments and future priorities.

The speech will be given to a joint session of the South Carolina General Assembly and will be broadcast live across the state. Viewers can watch on SCETV and through SCETV’s website and social media channels.

Members of the public may attend the address in person at the State House. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors should arrive early and be prepared to go through security screening.
