A familiar face is bringing Allstate Insurance back into sharper focus in Woodruff. Alex Davis, a lifelong Woodruff resident, will officially open and own the Allstate Insurance agency located at 360 Sloan Road in Woodruff, directly in front of the new BMW plant, beginning Monday, February 2, 2026. The office will operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For Davis, opening and owning the Woodruff agency represents far more than a business milestone.
“Operating this business in Woodruff isn’t just a business move for me—it’s personal,” Davis said. “This community helped shape who I am, and I see this agency as a way to give back in a meaningful, lasting way.” Davis’ vision is to build an agency rooted in trust, relationships, and long-term community commitment. He hopes customers will choose the agency not only for quality insurance products, but because they know the people behind the office. “I want to build an agency that people trust because they know me, know my family, and know I’m invested here for the long haul,” Davis said.
A strong supporter of Woodruff High School athletics for years, Davis plans to deepen his involvement with local schools. One of his goals is to rejoin the Woodruff All-Sports Booster Club as a board member and expand his support of student-athletes and programs.
“Success in the first few years looks like strengthening relationships with existing customers, earning the trust of new ones, and building a reputation for being accessible, responsive, and genuinely committed to this town,” he said. “If the agency is known not just for good insurance, but for being part of the fabric of Woodruff, I’ll consider that a real success.”
As a Woodruff native, Davis believes his local perspective will shape how the agency serves customers on a daily basis.
“Being a Woodruff native gives me a real understanding of the people here—the businesses, the families, and the challenges they face day to day,” Davis said. “I’m not learning this community from a map or a spreadsheet; I’ve lived it.”
His leadership approach is hands-on and relationship-driven, with an emphasis on clear communication and accessibility.
“When someone calls or walks into the office, I want them to deal with people who know the area, understand local risks, and can explain coverage in plain language,” he said. “Leadership starts with accessibility and accountability—being present, returning calls, and standing behind the advice we give.”
Davis and his wife, Cortney Davis, have deep ties to local education. Cortney has taught at Woodruff High School for 14 years. Their children, Addison, son and Ava, daughter, will attend the new high school next year, with Addison as a senior and Ava as a freshman—part of the first class to complete all four years at the new facility. The family is heavily involved in Woodruff sports and community activities.
“I want this agency to feel less like a corporate office and more like a trusted local partner,” Davis said. “Customers should feel confident knowing their agent is someone who’s invested in Woodruff and committed to protecting this community for the long term.” As the agency grows, Davis plans to hire locally, believing that community-based staffing leads to better service.
“Our first hire is a Woodruff High School graduate who is deeply involved in the community. Carmen Pineda will be joining our office very soon as she finishes out her current role, and she will bring great value to our team. Carmen is a team player, goal-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service. She also brings an important skill set to our agency by being bilingual, allowing us to better support clients who prefer to communicate in Spanish. That kind of accessibility and inclusiveness is something I believe strongly in.
As the agency continues to grow, I will continue looking for team members who are trustworthy, motivated, and community-minded people who care about serving customers, communicate clearly, and take pride in their work. My goal is to build a team that reflects the values of Woodruff and delivers dependable, high-quality service to every customer we serve. The best agencies are built by people who understand the community they serve,” he said. “I’ll be looking for team members who are trustworthy, motivated, and genuinely care about helping people.”
He values integrity, work ethic, and a willingness to learn as much as prior insurance experience. Team members who will support both the Woodruff and Lyman offices include Brenda Holland, Summer Martin, and Dylan Birdno.
Community involvement will remain a central focus for Davis both as a business owner and as a neighbor. In addition to school and athletic support, he plans to participate in local events, partner with small businesses, and support fundraisers and community initiatives. “Whether that’s sponsoring events or simply showing up, being active matters just as much as being a good business owner,” he said.
Davis describes the opening of the Woodruff agency as a full-circle moment. He began his Allstate career in the same Woodruff office in 1998 under Gene Moore, before later opening his own agency in Lyman. He acknowledged that over time, many residents were unaware that an Allstate office still existed in Woodruff.
“My goal is to change that—to make this agency more visible, more accessible, and more connected to the community,” he said.
With more than 25 years of experience with Allstate Insurance, Davis is optimistic about the future. The Woodruff and Lyman teams will work together to provide prompt service, clear guidance, and strong customer support.
“Most importantly, I want people to know that this agency is here for the long term,” Davis said. “My door is always open, and I’m committed to building relationships, earning trust, and making sure Woodruff knows Allstate is present, active, and invested in this community again.”
