Claudia O’Steen’s Newest Exhibition

The Spartanburg Art Museum’s newest exhibition is of Claudia O’Steen’s work. O’Steen is a Winthrop graduate and resides in South Carolina. She is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in fine arts and digital media. O’Steen takes a research-based approach to her artwork and often incorporates themes of science and humanity.

Her exhibition at the Spartanburg Art Museum includes multimedia work inspired by climate change and human impact in South Carolina. She focuses on coastlines, salt marshes, and ghost forests in her work. The exhibition examines changes in landscapes over time and how new environments are created.

O’Steen’s exhibit is in the main gallery of the Spartanburg Art Museum from Jan. 22, 2026, to Mar. 28, 2026. Admission is free to explore her unique exhibition yourself.

Classes and Workshops for All Ages

The Spartanburg Art Museum also offers a variety of classes to visitors. Upcoming classes include painting for beginners, introduction to character design, sewing, and stained glass workshops. Classes are for a variety of age groups, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Spartanburg Art Museum’s regular art classes emphasize their dedication to inspiring new artists across the upstate.

1907 Society Annual Speakeasy Gala

The Spartanburg Art Museum’s 1907 Society Annual Speakeasy Gala was held on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026. The gala includes live music, an open bar, and casino games located in the Chapman Cultural Center Theater.

While the gala is a fundraiser for the Spartanburg Art Museum. The fundraiser helps support all the fantastic things the museum offers.

The Spartanburg Art Museum is a great place to visit for all ages and has something for everyone. In line with the museum’s mission to make art accessible, general admission to the gallery is free. The Spartanburg Art Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and is located at 200 E. St. John Street, Chapman Cultural Center, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
