OneSpartanburg, Inc. is strengthening the region’s workforce pipeline by partnering with employers across Spartanburg County to maintain a centralized list of internship and work-based learning opportunities for both high school and college students.
That commitment to cultivating future leaders was on full display as the City of Woodruff participated in the OneSpartanburg Internship Fair, Feb. 25-26, connecting directly with students interested in hands-on experience and public service careers.
“The experience at the internship fair was extremely positive for the City of Woodruff,” said Mary-Margaret Bowen, Public Information Officer for the City.
“We had the opportunity to connect with motivated students, share information about careers in local government and highlight how internships with the City provide hands-on experience while serving the community.”
City Leaders Emphasize Importance of Public Service Internships
Bowen noted the level of student engagement was encouraging. “It was inspiring to see such strong interest in public service, and we look forward to continuing to invest in the next generation of professionals,” she said. “Anyone interested in interning with the City of Woodruff can visit our website for details. We offer paid summer internships for both high school and college students. We are excited to welcome potential interns to one of the fastest-growing communities in the Upstate.”
