WOODRUFF, S.C. — On March 21, The Church at the Mill – Woodruff campus will step beyond its walls and into the community for “Serve the ’Druff,” a coordinated day of service designed to meet tangible needs and strengthen local partnerships.
The initiative brings together volunteers of all ages for a morning of hands-on projects, outreach, and encouragement across Woodruff. From beautification efforts and neighborhood prayer walks to supporting seniors and first responders, the event reflects a unified commitment to service.
“When the church shows up with open hands and willing hearts, real needs are met and the love of Christ is made visible,” said Daniel Godfrey, associate pastor of the Woodruff campus.
Volunteer opportunities will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and include a wide range of service projects.
Service Projects Include:
- Adopt-A-Highway cleanup along Highway 221
- Citywide litter sweep
- Improvement projects at the Woodruff Leisure Center (painting, fencing, and community garden work)
- Assembling and delivering care bags to residents at Brookstone Terrace and Woodruff Manor
- Drive-thru prayer stations
- Encouraging roadside signs throughout the city
- Serving lunch to first responders
- Deep cleaning at the Woodruff Area Soup Kitchen
- Assisting Woodruff High School with moving preparations
A prayer walk and door hanger initiative, led by Godfrey, will send volunteers into neighborhoods to pray for residents and leave messages of encouragement.
Many of the service opportunities are family-friendly, making it accessible for individuals, families, and groups to participate together in meaningful ways.
Organizers say the goal of Serve the ’Druff is not only to meet immediate needs but also to foster lasting connections between the church and the broader community.
