Keep OneSpartanburg Beautiful (KOSB), an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, awarded the first of six recipients of the Community Impact grants at McKinney Park in Woodruff on Jan. 6. The Community Impact grants support and fund beautification projects across Spartanburg County.
The City of Woodruff is one of the six recipients. Christy Snow, Executive Director of KOSB, presented Woodruff’s Mayor, Kenneth Gist, with a check for $2,000.
Woodruff will use the funds to replace the three outdated “Welcome to Woodruff” signs. The signs are located just inside the city limits on U.S. 221, Cross Anchor Highway and the corner of East Georgia and East Hayne streets.

The signs should be complete and placed in their designated spots within 60 days, according to the City Manager, Lee Bailey.
Snow said, “The new signage will also make a positive impact on the first impressions that visitors have when they first come in to the city.”
The deadline to apply for the next round of Community Impact grants is April 1, 2020. To submit a proposal for grant funding, download an application or apply online on the Keep OneSpartanburg Beautiful website or contact Snow at csnow@spartanburgcounty.org or (864) 462-4083.
