During the height of the stay-at-home order during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Country Meat Center wanted to do something for community members that lost a job, were furloughed or were simply feeling the stress of this new crisis. The answer – a monthly drawing for a $200 gift card for free groceries.
Customers signed up for the drawing on visits during a month, and then on the first of May, June and July, Leslie Cash, co-management for the Country Meat Center, would go live on the store’s Facebook page to announce the winner of the gift card. The final drawing was on July 1.
In another effort to serve the community, the Country Meat Center announced in June that it would be expanding its 9,500 square foot store by an additional 6,000 square feet this year. This expansion comes less than two years since its grand opening in November 2018.
“We will be adding more groceries, freezer space and a deli which will allow us to be a true one stop shop. We will be offering more wild game, seafood and grocery options to complete your meals or simply provide necessary items for your week. Our deli will provide a new option for easy lunches and dinners as well as trays and other specialties for all of your functions and parties. We had always hoped to be able to offer even more to our customers and the opportunity came,” said Cash.
The Country Meat Center will host a grand re-opening once the additions are completed, said Cash.
