The Woodruff Times has been investigating the rumors in town about the Woodruff BI-LO store closing and Food Lion taking over the lease.
What we have discovered at this time is that Food Lion has confirmed that Food Lion has not acquired the BI-LO, nor has the grocer taken over the lease of the building.
“We have one store in Woodruff, no other leases,” said Emma Inman, director of external communications for Food Lion. She also added that Food Lion has no future plans to acquire the Woodruff BI-LO.
We have also reached out to the Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of BI-LO, but have not heard back yet in regards to the claims that the Woodruff BI-LO is closing.
Additionally, we have tried to contact the City of Woodruff on this matter, but also have not heard back yet. We will update this post when we know more information.
