Humble Grounds Coffee Cafe reopened today after a brief closure during which owner, Brandy Laney, took care of her ailing grandparents.. Laney said she missed her customers and was excited to reopen. From the number of customers in her establishment this morning it was clear they missed Humble Grounds too.
I sat with my iced Nutty Irishman, the coffee special, and banna nut muffin patiently waiting for a moment for things to slow down so I could ask Laney a few questions. After a while I realised there was not going to be a lull and Laney was gracious enough to talk to me while she worked.
We talked about her plans for Humble Grounds and what was new.
Humble Grounds has new hours, Wednesday-Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
They will have savory crepes and sweet crepes with seasonal fruit along with daily specials. Tomorrow’s special is pot roast served with mixed vegetables over a bowl of rice. They are still offering curbside service, call in orders, to go and dine in.
Saturdays they will have a pop-up makers market. Local artisans are invited. You can contact Laney using the contact information at the bottom of this article.
Humble Grounds will also be hosting the Farmer’s Market. The Farmer’s Market will be on Saturday mornings starting in early spring. Local farmer’s and growers that are interested should contact Laney.
They are currently hiring. Those interested should apply in person at Humble Grounds.
