 Growth in Residential Construction Continues Steadily Across the City

The City of Woodruff’s Building Department issued a total of 80 permits during the month of May 2025, reflecting ongoing development throughout the community. The majority of permits were for residential construction, with a smaller number issued for commercial projects and system-specific work like electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and roofing.

Breakdown of Permit Types:

• Residential Building Permits: A significant portion of permits were issued for new residential construction or additions, particularly in developing neighborhoods along Lee’s Corner Lane, Blaire Ridge Way, Wolverine Lane, and Evaleigh Street.
  
• Commercial Permits: A few commercial projects were approved, including a fire permit on Cross Anchor Road and a building permit for 577 N. Main Street.
  
• Specialty Permits: Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and roofing permits were also issued to companies such as Volt Pro Electric, Reliable Services USA, and Gas Guys Plumbing & Heating.

• Multiple permits were issued on the same day for clusters of new homes, signaling active subdivision development.
  
• Builders such as SK Builders, Inc. and Carolina Carport, Inc. were among those filing for multiple addresses.
  
• Several projects were initiated along high-growth corridors including Sunfire Street, Josephine Drive, and Harben Drive.
