Show Steady Growth Across Woodruff Area
The City of Woodruff’s Building Department issued 93 permits during July 2025, reflecting continued growth in both residential and commercial development.
Residential Construction Dominates
The majority of permits were for new single-family homes, with major builders including DR Horton, NVR/Ryan Homes, Lennar Carolinas, Dream Finders Homes, Meritage Homes, SK Builders, and DRB Group South Carolina leading activity.
New housing developments were concentrated along Wolverine Lane, English Green Way, Farmwell Drive, Hart Townes Way, Harben Drive, Saginaw Court, Crewe Street, and Haddon Trail.
Several renovation and specialty projects were also approved, including a residential renovation on Anderson Drive and a swimming pool installation on Millen Drive.
Commercial Projects
Significant commercial construction continues at 6228 Highway 101, with multiple permits covering new building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work by contractors such as Choate, Herlocker Mechanical Systems, and Gaylor Electric.
Additional commercial activity included projects on Cross Anchor Road, Main Street, Williams Street, and North Main Street.
Other Permits
A demolition permit was issued for a structure on Irby Street.
Solar installation was approved on Shakespeare Drive.
Several electrical, mechanical, and plumbing upgrades were permitted for both residential and commercial sites.
