According to a press release from The City of Woodruff Police Department David Michael Harman was arrested on November 24, 2025, following an ongoing investigation into allegations made by a former employee of Sun Quest Tanning, located at 339 South Main Street in Woodruff.
Harman was taken into custody and charged with four counts of Assault and Battery, 1st Degree. According to authorities, additional charges will be sought as the investigation continues, including:
- Possession With Intent to Distribute (PWID) Marijuana
- PWID Schedule II Narcotics
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon
Police say the investigation began after a former Sun Quest Tanning employee reported that Harman had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions while she was employed at the business. Because Sun Quest Tanning is equipped with surveillance cameras, detectives obtained a search warrant to secure any related video evidence.
During the execution of the search warrant, investigators discovered multiple firearms and a quantity of illegal drugs inside the business, leading to the pursuit of additional criminal charges.
Harman was transported to the Spartanburg County Detention Center, where he will remain pending a bond hearing. Officials say the case remains active and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
