Bonnie and Jimmy Meeks, longtime H&R Block franchisees serving Woodruff and several Upstate communities, have been named 2025 Featured Franchisees of the Year by H&R Block, earning national recognition for both business excellence and community involvement.

The Meeks were the only recipients nationwide in the 8+ offices category, placing them among the Elite 25 and Top Performing H&R Block franchisees across the country. Award honorees are selected based on outstanding business results, leadership, brand ambassadorship, and strong community engagement.

“This award solidified what we have worked so hard to achieve,” Bonnie Meeks said. “My parents purchased their first H&R Block franchise when I was two years old. I grew up in the tax offices, and after many years in this business, this recognition truly means everything to us.”

The award was presented at H&R Block’s annual Frontline Forum, held November 16, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. The event brings together franchisees and company leaders from across the nation to share innovative strategies, participate in interactive workshops, and prepare for the upcoming tax season.

According to the Meeks, their client-first philosophy played a major role in the recognition. “We always put our clients first and treat every customer the way we want to be treated,” Bonnie said. “Helping people understand their taxes and reach their financial goals is what we enjoy most.”

Community involvement was also a key factor in the award selection. The Meeks’ offices regularly sponsor local sports teams, participate in community events, and offer tax education talks throughout the towns they serve. “We try to be involved wherever we have offices,” Bonnie explained. “We want people to know we’re here to serve.”

Although H&R Block is a national brand, the Meeks emphasize that their offices operate with a small-town mindset. “We are family owned and operated, and my husband and I are active daily in our offices,” Bonnie said. “Many of our employees have been with us for decades. That continuity creates a better, more personal experience for our clients.”

As tax season approaches, the Meeks encourage residents to seek professional guidance, particularly with recent changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. “There are several new deductions and credits that impact the majority of households,” Bonnie said. “Working with a knowledgeable tax professional helps ensure taxpayers receive every credit and deduction they’re entitled to.”
The Meeks say the most common concern they hear from clients is maximizing refunds, and their goal remains unchanged going into 2025.

“Every year, we strive to be a trusted partner for our clients,” Bonnie said. “This award has always been a goal, but our focus will always be on putting our customers and their needs first.”

The couple closed by thanking the communities they serve. “We would like to thank all of our current and future clients for trusting us,” Bonnie said. “We cherish the relationships we’ve built and invite everyone to come see us as we help navigate tax law changes this season.”
