The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced plans to temporarily close the Woodruff Road (S-146) bridge over the Enoree River in Spartanburg County to complete necessary repairs.

According to a notice issued March 6, the closure is expected to begin on or around March 10. The bridge is projected to reopen by late April, although the timeline may change depending on weather conditions and construction progress.

During the repair period, SCDOT will implement a detour route to guide motorists around the bridge. A detour map has been provided by the agency to help drivers navigate the area.

Officials noted that Woodruff Road and Highway 146 will remain open to local traffic, except at the bridge site where the work is taking place.

SCDOT is asking drivers traveling in the area to slow down and remain alert for posted signs and work crews while construction is underway. Motorists who regularly use the route should plan for possible delays and allow additional travel time during the closure.
