Rooted in Woodruff: American Advance Tree Focuses on Saving Trees, Not Just Removing Them

When many people think about a tree service company, they picture chainsaws, stump grinders, and large trees being removed from a property. People think we are all created equal. Folks, we are NOT!

As for Kevin Bronson, owner of American Advance Tree, the goal is increasingly becoming something different: helping homeowners save and preserve trees whenever possible.

Bronson and his wife have deep roots in the community. Both attended and graduated from Woodruff High School, and the family has called Woodruff home from 1999 to 2024 and now lives in Cross Keys Home. Since launching American Advance Tree in Woodruff in the summer of 2014, Bronson has built a reputation for providing professional tree care throughout Woodruff and surrounding communities, with more than 240 positive Google reviews alone.

Today, the company serves customers in Spartanburg, Laurens, Union & Greenville counties and offers a full range of tree services, including tree removal, pruning, health assessments, and long-term tree care planning. What sets American Advance Tree apart is Bronson’s professional credentials backed by our “RED, White & Blue Guarantee”. As an ISA Certified Arborist (SO-10007A), he brings specialized training and expertise that are not available at the “run of the mill tree services”.

“Over the years, our focus has shifted,” Bronson said. “While we’re very proficient in tree removal and pruning, we’re hoping to save more trees than we remove, moving forward. Sometimes a tree can be preserved with the right care, and we want homeowners to have the information they need to make the best decision for their property.”

Unlike many companies where a salesperson provides an estimate and a different crew performs the work, Bronson says customers work directly with the arborist from the beginning in our Knockout Arborist Model, Backed By Our Red, White & Blue Guarantee.
“When you hire us, you’re hiring the Arborist standing in front of you during the discovery process,” he explained, ” No bait & switch, Qualified, Competent Arborist, who can confidently provide the information you need to understand your tree’s long-term health and what options are available.”

Bronson believes one of the biggest challenges facing homeowners is navigating an industry where qualifications can vary significantly from one company to another.

“There is a lot of untrained and undocumented labor in the marketplace,” he said. “Homeowners should know who they’re hiring, what credentials they have, and whether they’re properly operating their business.” Just Google “Find A Local Certified Arborist.”

American Advance Tree also strives to make the customer experience more personal. Bronson says many tree service companies operate on a purely transactional basis, but his team wants to leave a lasting positive impression.

One unique way they do that is by leaving American flags with homeowners they meet, sometimes even when no work is performed. “Our Commitment is to give away more flags than jobs we can possibly take on, “Bronson said.

“Our estimates are non-conditional,” Bronson said. “Hire us if we’re a good fit. We simply want the opportunity to serve people and help them make the right decision for their trees.”

For homeowners concerned about the health of aging trees, storm damage, overgrown limbs, or potential safety hazards, Bronson recommends consulting a Local Certified Arborist. You can find one by calling us or using the Google search bar for “find a local Certified Arborist,” where you can verify credentials. before making a decision to remove a tree or hire a service provider.
“Every tree has a story,” he said. “Our goal is to help homeowners determine whether that story can continue, & Leave them a new Flag for having us over!”
