On Monday, May 18, Stone Soup Storytelling Institute hosted the Woodruff Times Recipe Challenge Tasting. The buffet was fabulous. The theme was “Make Mama Proud” with chicken and vegetable favorites.
We enjoyed Chicken Divan, Chicken Salad with Walnuts, and freshly fried Chicken Schnitzel. The Roasted Pork Loin was excellent and its Blueberry Glaze was good with the Schnitzel too. The vegetables included Fresh Fried Yellow Corn, Buttered Baby Lima Beans, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, BLT Salad, and an Asian Salad. For dessert we shared a Peach Cobbler with a Sugar Cookie Crust and a Coconut Cream Bundt Cake.
Several guests left before the voting so an exeutive decision was reached to award all dishes tied for First Place.
The event will be at THE MUSE, 134 S. Main St. Join in the fun at 6 o’clock. Bring the children. The event is free and donationa are always appreciated.
