For many years, churches across the Spartanburg District 4 community have gathered on the Sunday evening before school begins to pray for students, teachers, staff, and administrators. This year’s annual District 4 Prayer Walk will continue that tradition with a slight adjustment to accommodate the district’s newest campus.
Because the new Woodruff High School is located farther from the district’s other schools, organizers have modified the format for the August 2, 2026, event.
Participants will begin at the new Woodruff High School, where Principal Christine Morris will provide a brief tour of the building’s first floor. The group will remain together during the tour and stop at several key locations throughout the school for prayer.
Following the tour, participants will travel to the front parking lot of First Baptist Church of Woodruff, where they will divide into teams. From there, teams will walk or drive to the remaining District 4 campuses, including Woodruff Middle School, Woodruff Intermediate School, Woodruff Elementary School, Woodruff Primary School, and the District Office.
Organizers say they are grateful for the opportunity to unite churches and community members in prayer for another school year and invite anyone interested to participate.
