WOODRUFF, S.C. — Residential construction, work at the Riverbend Athletic Complex and preparations for a new convenience store were among the projects included in the City of Woodruff’s July 2026 permit report.
The city reported issuing 66 permits between July 1 and July 31.
New Home Construction Leads Permit Activity
At least 30 building permits were issued for new residential construction. The projects included homes in several growing subdivisions, including:
- Autumn Glen
- Cavins Farm
- Harrier Point
- Lakestone
- Neely Park
- Rutledge Estates
- Varner Station
New residential permits were also issued for properties on West Hayne Street and Theo Circle. The Theo Circle project is described as a new duplex, meaning the residential permits could account for at least 31 new housing units.
Neely Park accounted for four new-home permits on Blaire Ridge Way, while four permits were issued for homes on Jubilee Trail in Lakestone. Varner Station had three new homes permitted on South Ivyblake Court.
Work Continues at Riverbend Athletic Complex
Several permits were connected to ongoing construction at the Riverbend Athletic Complex at 101 Sportsmanship Way.
The report includes permits involving a concession building, fire sprinklers, plumbing, mechanical work and other facilities at the complex. The city is developing Riverbend as a major recreational destination for Woodruff and the surrounding area.
New 7-Eleven Project Moves Forward
Multiple permits were associated with a commercial project at 6620 Highway 101.
The report identifies the development as a new 7-Eleven convenience store. July permits included site work, grading, landscaping, road improvements, a fuel system and temporary electrical service related to construction.
The permits indicate that preparations for the development are moving forward, although the report does not provide an anticipated opening date.
Demolition Permits Issued Along East Georgia Road
Eight demolition permits were issued during July, primarily for properties along East Georgia Road.
The addresses included properties at or near:
- 1804 East Georgia Road
- 1806 East Georgia Road
- 1808 East Georgia Road
- 1810 East Georgia Road
- 1850 East Georgia Road
A separate site-work permit for grading was also issued for 1806 East Georgia Road.
Other July Projects
Additional permits issued during the month included:
- A certificate of occupancy for a hair salon at 113 W. Georgia St.
- Commercial sign permits at 247 N. Main St. and 214 S. Main St.
- An electric vehicle charger installation at 450 West Claywalk Road.
- Residential additions and renovations.
- Plumbing, electrical, mechanical and roofing projects.
Building permits authorize projects to proceed but do not necessarily mean construction has started or been completed.
