Are you passionate about writing and getting involved in your local community? The Woodruff Times is seeking talented individuals to attend and write about community events, such as concerts, special events hosted by the city or local businesses, ribbon cuttings for new businesses, and anything else that catches the community’s attention.
Although we are a small business, there will be some compensation available for writers, and as a freelance writer, you may be able to write off certain expenses on your taxes. In addition, our writers have the opportunity to submit articles for the annual South Carolina Press Association (SCPA) News Contest Awards, where one of our writers won first place in 2022.
Whether you have some extra time on your hands, are looking to gain experience to further your career, or simply have a passion for writing and community involvement, this is an excellent opportunity for you. The Woodruff Times was founded in 2019 to keep the community informed about local government, schools, and other happenings. With Woodruff experiencing unprecedented growth, now is the perfect time to get involved and document this exciting period in our history.
If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity, please reach out to Vareva Evans-Harris at 803-931-2601 or Vareva@thewoodrufftimes.com, or Tracy Simmons-Sanders at 864-978-4167 or Tracy@thewoodrufftimes.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
